Why Are my Teeth Sensitive ?

Caused by stimulation of cells within the microtubules located in the dentin (beneath the enamel).

Happened when enamel is worn down or gums have receded, exposing the microtubules.

To decrease sensitivity :

  • use soft bristled toothbrush,
  • gentle brushing,
  • toothpaste for sensitive teeth such as sensodyne,
  • decrease acidic food intake,
  • concentrated fluoride gels.
  • Should the sensitivity persists, consult with your dentist since it may be something else.
